Christian Plebst
Christian Plebst trained as a general and child-adolescent psychiatrist in Argentina and at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and at Teachers College, Columbia University, in the USA.
He designed and directed a nationwide reference centre for children with special needs (FLENI – CETNA) for 10 years jointly with his education and rehabilitaton programmes based on the community. Since 1999, he has devoted to the research, study and exploration of contemplative practices.
He is a guest speaker at Universidad Siglo 21 and Universidad de San Andrés. He is currently an active lecturer nationwide and abroad, on topics related to integrating emotional education and mindfulness/full attention in classroom and school practice, as well as the professional development of school and health staff on inclusion and coexistence.
His daily work is focused on consultation practice , especially children and adolescents with autism and their respective families, supervising teams in schools and clinics. He is presently the director of the Conscious Teaching Academy in Latin America and Spain (AMT – Eline Snel method- The Netherlands) and founder of Atentos x Naturaleza. His current interests include beliefs and attitudes in infancy and caregiving beyond diagnosis, the impact of screens on the early development of attention and symbolic capacities and intentional communities such as the Camphill communities, in his role as founding member of the Respirar Comunidad project.
