Javier Suarez-Alvarez
Javier is an analyst for the OECD’s Directorate for Education and Skills in Paris, France. He is currently responsible for the implementation of the PISA-based Test for Schools (PBTS) programme in Spanish speaking countries and provides analytical support and advice on the research and technical implementation of the PBTS programme at the OECD. Prior to joining the OECD he held positions including: consultant for the evaluation and quality service of the Regional Ministry of Education of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, Spain; teaching and research staff at the Department of Psychology of the University of Oviedo, Spain; visiting scholar in the Department of Educational Policy, Research & Administration at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA; and visiting scholar at the Psychometrics Centre of the University of Cambridge, UK. Javier has produced several publications on educational and psychological assessment, including peer-reviewed scientific journals and policy-oriented research documents for governmental authorities. Javier holds an MA in the Methodology of Behavioural Sciences and Health and an international PhD in Psychometrics from the University of Oviedo, Spain.
